I had it all planned out. I would take my lab practical final this morning (Anatomy and physiology lab). Get an "A" (or at least prayed I would). Come home, eat lunch and then start decorating the house for Christmas!
Well...the best laid plans...ya know... I did in fact take my lab practical (woke up at 4am to the rain...and couldn't get back to sleep). And I did get an "A", barely...but it's still an "A".
I came home, dropped off my books in my "room" (I love having a room in the house that is mine!!), and got ready to make some lunch when I saw the answering machine flashing at me. Now, most of you know that my husband works at home..but today he is in California on business (all week, actually) and so...messages. 3 of them!! The first...Greg looking for a good dentist...that's easy...done. The second...a sales call...delete!! The third...my doctors office...call them at my earliest convenience. Hmmm....ok
Called Greg, Called the docs...closed for lunch. That reminds me...I'm hungry. Power down some leftovers...time to call the docs again. Wait for him, my doctor, to come on the line. Of course, all this time I'm thinking..."what does he want?"....Well, I had a chest x-ray a week ago last Wednesday...to make sure I had cleared up all the pneumonia...so I figure he just wants to let me know that I'm good to go! Yep, he wants to talk about my chest x-ray alright....and what they found on it....yikes! Ok, calm down...listen to what he has to say and take notes...
It seems that there is an abnormal growth in my lung...and some scaring that leads him to want some more tests. I also have what's called Hyperinflation, and a number of bullae in the lungs.
He is worried...so, that of course makes me worried. I need to go to the hospital and have a pulmonary function test and a CT. He will leave the orders at his front desk for me to pick up and please schedule them asap!
So much for a fun afternoon decorating the house...kinda took the wind out of my sails!!
Please pray that whatever it is that has been seen on the x-ray is nothing at all...so I can get back to getting ready for my favorite time of the year...Christmas!!!
