R.S.T.

(aka...Random Saturday Thoughts)

Wow, I haven't posted in a LONG time...lots has happened...(probably forgotten most of it)

June: School ended for Joel and Matt...summer reading began....grrrrr. You'd think that as an upcoming senior and sophomore I wouldn't need to restrict activities to get them to read...think again! I had a mammo...again...every 6 months whether I need it or not! :). Joel and Matt went to a youth conference over at CC St. Pete. We celebrated our 28th wedding anniversary...wow! And...we bought a new bed. Another GRRRRR! Ya see, we just bought a pillow top king size bed about 3 years ago. The pillow top was already breaking down and we were waking up every morning with aching backs. We went to The Original Mattress Factory and bought an old-fashioned 2 sided- rotate and turn mattress. So far, so good!

July: A very busy and expensive month! Matthew left on a 10 day mission trip to Slidell, LA on the 9th. Joel left for a 5 day camp to the North Georgia mountains on the 10th, and I flew to New York to spend some time with my hubby. He was working there and wouldn't be coming home till the following week...so he talked me into coming up so we could spend the weekend together. Funny thing is...he worked the whole time I was there. Saw him for a few dinners...one day I didn't see him at all. (he got up and went to work while I was still asleep, and got back to the room after I went to bed). Oh well, at least I got to spend a few hours with my good friend Kim Tresohlavy in the city. Andrea McClure got married, and we flew to CA to visit our daughter Becky and our families. Of course, this was delayed by 2 days for a serious medical emergency that involved Aaron. Boy...never a dull moment in our household!

August began with a visit from Kim Tres, and 2 weeks of JrROTC drill camp for Matt...and the start of school. Joel is a Senior...Matt a Sophomore. Joel had his last "first day of school"! A bittersweet time for James and I. Bitter, because this just means that we are all a little bit older...and sweet because we are almost done with one more! Can't believe that in less than a week, Matt will be 16 and Joel will be 18. 3 adult children...when did that happen.

So...that catches me up...whew! Life is busy...and good at times and not so good at others! James still has a job...which is a very good thing!

We have a very busy fall planned...hopefully we can accomplish all that we want to. I will be flying to CA to visit Becky and my folks in September...we will be driving to South Bend, Indiana in October for the Notre Dame/USC game. My dad and brother will be flying from CA...and we will meet up with them. We are also planning on driving to CA for Christmas. This will be our first Christmas home since we left CA 20 years ago. Our parents are getting old and we need to take advantage of any time with them that we can, while we can.

OK...that's it...for now. Hopefully it won't be another 3 month before I update...but you never know!
